
Grow Blueberries in your garden with me.
Like the other ericaceous plants, blueberries flourish in acid soils and do best in soils with a pH between 4 and 5. It is very easy to grow blueberries in your garden.
Grow blueberry plant in acid soil. If your soil is not acidic then use ericaceous compost to make it suitable for growing blueberry plant. Make sure to plant two varieties as that will help in cross-pollination and better quality of the plant. Then, plant while dormant, 1.5m apart. After that mulch with acidic peat, wood chippings or pine needles. Water well the plant. Protect it with net in order to make it more safe during fruiting season.

The fruit is sweet and u can make innumerable dishes out of it by simply plucking them from your garden. You can make Blueberry, pecan and chocolate ‘cheesecake’; Blueberry Chutney; Blueberry pudding; Sweet blueberry omelette, Pecan and blueberry tiramisu, Caramelised blueberries with lemon syllabub, Pistachio blueberry banana bread and what not! Without moving out to market for shopping blueberries.

The blueberry of the genus Vaccinium, is a native American species. In fact the blueberry is one of the few fruits native to North America. For centuries blueberries were collected from forest and now it has maintained it’s popularity with a thriving commercial business.
Blueberries before growing into a fruit take a shape of a flower, which can be white, pale pink or red, sometimes tinged greenish in bell-shape.
