new-zealand-scientists-cultivate-new-hot-pink-gentian-flower_49

Good news for gentian lovers! Scientists in New Zealand have cultivated a hot pink gentian, and in sometime you will see red and purple gentians too. Pink gentian is thrilling florists in Europe, the United States and Japan, where it is prized for flower arrangements.

Flower exporters are facing a problem in meeting the demand because the supply of new gentian is comparative lesser than it’s demand.

Flowerzone, an Auckland based flower exporter’s trading manager Louise Sheehan said that about 90 per cent of gentians are blue with a modicum of whites and pale pinks, but new hot pink flower is proving a winner.
