Squirrel’s are very fond of bulbs and can leave you frustrating if you will not take precautionary measures right now. They love to dig in freshly worked soil, so cover the surface of the fresh bed with black plastic net; any other type of covering will be visible. You can even plant your bulbs in crushed gravel, which is hard and discourages the squirrels.
To be on the safer side, I would suggest you to plant lots of daffodils, which squirrels don’t eat. You can also plant tulips in netted pots.
